Team Perseverance (formally known as team 1) made it home to Greenville 11pm Saturday night after traveling 24hours from Sofia Bulgaria to Greenville NC. We traveled with Austrian Airlines who where in our opinion very hospitable, friendly, and caring. Our Team all agreed that that flight was better than that of United Airlines flying to Frankfurt Germany. The flight was 9 hours and our journey took us from Vienna Austria, over Great Britain, Ireland, to the southern tip of Greenland, into Canada, over New York, and arrived in Washington DC. Everything was going as planned until we boarded our flight to Raleigh NC. As we pulled away from the Gate the captain stopped the plane, turned off the engines and said that the flight will now be delayed 45 minutes because of sever weather over Raleigh. So we sat on the plane with no A.C. and waited. Yes it was very hot inside the plane! After arriving an hour later in Raleigh, Buddy picked us up at the Airport and drove us home in the church van. Home free, right? Wrong, we got a flat tire at exit 46 on high way 264, about less than 30 miles from Greenville. Remember we are Team Perseverance! Buddy, Rob, and myself were able to change out the flat tire. This was the closest feeling of a NASCAR experience we would ever get except it was not a 13 second pit stop. Anyway we finally made it home to Greenville at 11 pm and were warmly greeted by family and friends. Rob, Jane, Scott, and myself made it to the 11:10 service and talked to many people about our missions trip of perseverance. We can not wait to hear and see what team 2 is doing. May God bless you all, we will continue to pray for each member of team 2, the people of Bulgaria, and the church. Team Perseverance: Mission Accomplished!
