Doncho "The Illusionist" and Servant of God
Rob and Scott are mixing up cement to use to stabilize the forms for when team 2 begins on the 1st floor this week. They are mixing it up in a "secret" Bulgarian style (ha!) when Doncho arrives. Doncho is a member of the church and also goes to the soup kitchen everday. Because he has witnessed this secret Rob feels it necessary to throw him in the hole so he can never speak about it :)
All in fun - Doncho plays along. He is the sweetest man and has a great testimony. He walked around the building everyday saying that his church was going to be the best church in the country. (He spoke a little English) and that he loved us bigger than the world for coming here.
Doncho went to church as a child and believed in God but it took a stroke and subsequent coma for him to meet Jesus. He had a stroke and his arms and legs were weakened and then had another stroke and went into a coma. He was in the coma for 48 days. The hospital sent his wife home to prepare for his funeral. She made the arrangements and came back to get him. But Praise God! He was awake and sitting up in bed. Completely healed. He says he met Jesus while he was in the coma and that he sent him back. Doncho has been His servant since that moment. He is an illusionist and loved to show us magic tricks. He has perfomed in the former Soviet Union in competition. Doncho is unforgettable!

Amy-
What a great story about Doncho. Thanks so much for keeping us all posted on the team's progress. It makes me miss the DR so much, and I even might want to go to Bulgaria thanks to the pictures and stories you guys have told here about the wonderful people there. Many blessings for the next leg of the trip...team 2.
